Girotto meets Alma was born from the inexhaustible creative flair of Javier Girotto and the talent of the Alma Saxophone Quartet.

The experience of an international soloist and the skill of four young talents meet and join hands, to create a fresh and compelling project, full of sounds and emotions.

The saxophone quartet forms the backbone of the pieces, alternating poignant melodies with daring virtuosic steps, and spreads a carpet of sound on which the soloist improvises freely from time to time. An overwhelming energy is released from the interaction between quartet and soloist, which envelops and excites the listener. A rich and multifaceted programme, which cannot fail to be appreciated by the public.

The Alma Saxophone Quartet was born in 2019 at the behest of four fellow students who shared a passion for chamber music and the desire to create innovative projects characterized by variety and experimentation. The aim of the training is to bring the saxophone quartet into the most disparate contexts, and at the same time enhance its extreme versatility.

To this end, Alma Saxophone Quartet wants to explore the most heterogeneous repertoires, moving with ease from transcriptions of the classical repertoire, to jazz, up to the most recent original pieces for this group.
